Co-Founder & Executive Director

Born in San Bernadino CA, and raised on the west side of Los Angeles, Mr. Wilson has always been connected to music – from the early 1960’s attending local country music shows with his father who sang and played several musical instruments…then studying music theory at Santa Monica City College in the early ‘70s as an aspiring songwriter, to working in the music industry starting in the late 1970’s as a studio and touring roadie, and eventually being trained as a professional audio engineer specializing in live sound reinforcement for clubs, arenas, and festivals.

During his career in music production – Mr. Wilson was fortunate enough to work with several amazing artists that included studio musicians Lee Ritenour, Harvey Mason and Patrice Rushen – and working live shows and tours that included Los Lobos and Herbie Hancock - and an all-star lineup at the “US Festival”…David Bowie, Van Halen, U2, Willie Nelson and too many others to list here.

In the late 1980’s, Mr. Wilson was recruited for a Theme Park project in Seoul, South Korea – to design and install an audio system for the Grand Opening Ceremonies. The rest, they say, is history.

30 years later, Mr. Wilson boasts a resume with a who’s-who list of theme park and attraction projects as a Project Manager and Producer, spanning the globe from Japan to Australia, United States to China – for clients that include such companies as Landmark Entertainment, Universal & Disney.

During this period Mr. Wilson married – and both his daughter and son were in school bands. Mr. Wilson became very involved as a ‘Band Dad’ – making sure the bands were supported by fundraising events in and around Santa Clarita, CA. After his kids graduated, Mr. Wilson and other ‘band parents’ and supporters formed a not-for-profit organization called Music Moves©. They all wanted to continue the important mission of “Supporting Music Education in Public Schools”!

Today, Music Moves© is active in developing and producing fundraising events for many school band programs.
