Proceeds from the 2013 event benefited the Hart School District honor band, as well the Golden Valley High School bands. Brian Leff, West Ranch High School band director, accepted a $400 check from Golden Valley High School band director Roger Brooks and Golden Valley High
School booster board on behalf of the honor band program. This is the first time the Golden Valley band made a donation to the district honor band program. The event was made possible by a generous grant from the City of Santa Clarita and sponsored by KHTS 1220 AM, The Santa Clarita Magazine, Harman International (JBL), SCV Latino Chamber of Commerce, Our Valley Magazine and SCV Gazette Free Classifieds. “The district honor band is very fortunate to receive a donation from the Golden Valley band booster organization and the Music Moves© program,” Leff said. “This donation covers a third of our yearly budget so we are on our way to providing a quality educational experience for free to our student musicians.”
Music Move’s© mission is to raise awareness of the need to support music education in public schools by partnering with the business community through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and by producing unique one-of-a-kind music shows, which pair up music students with professional musicians.
